Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about CardAtlas — the AI-powered Pokémon TCG collection, pricing and trading platform. Can't find your answer? Get in touch below.

What is CardAtlas?

CardAtlas is an all-in-one platform for Pokémon TCG collectors. You can scan cards with your phone, track their live market value, manage multiple binders, receive price alerts and trade cards with other collectors.

Is CardAtlas free?

Yes. During the public beta the full platform is free — scanning, live pricing, collection management, alerts and trading are all included. No credit card required.

How does the AI card scanner work?

You take or upload a photo of the card. Our AI reads the card name, set symbol, collector number and stamps such as 1st Edition or Shadowless, then matches the image against the official catalogue to identify the exact variant.

How accurate is the scanner?

For clear photos of modern English cards the scanner is right the vast majority of the time. When multiple printings look almost identical (Shadowless, 1st Edition, reprints) we always show a picker so you can confirm the correct variant.

Which Pokémon cards are supported?

All English Pokémon TCG sets from Base Set (1999) through the newest release (Pitch Black) are supported. CardAtlas follows the available Pokémon TCG set data and is updated as new sets become available — including promos, Trainer Gallery cards and special subsets. 1st Edition, Shadowless and Star Pokémon are recognised as separate variants.

Does CardAtlas support Japanese Pokémon cards?

Yes. CardAtlas supports modern Japanese Pokémon cards (Scarlet & Violet, Sword & Shield and recent promos), including recognition, set detection and pricing. Support for older Japanese cards and vintage promos (WOTC, Neo, e-Card, Gym era) is still in development — recognition and pricing for these cards may be incomplete or temporarily unavailable. We regularly expand our coverage by adding new sets, improving recognition and integrating additional pricing sources.

Where do the prices come from?

Live market prices are sourced from Cardmarket (Europe) and TCGplayer (US) via their official data feeds. Prices refresh automatically so your collection reflects recent market value.

How often are prices updated?

Prices refresh in the background at least once per day, and popular cards more frequently. When you open a card page we opportunistically re-fetch the price so the value you see is fresh.

Can I set the price manually?

Yes. On any card in your collection you can set a manual price override — useful for graded copies, signed cards or trades where the market value doesn't apply.

Do I need an account?

Public card and set pages are browsable without an account. To save a collection, use the scanner, set alerts or trade you need a free CardAtlas account.

How do I sign up?

Click Create account and sign up with email or Google. The account is free and you can delete it and all your data at any time from Settings.

Is my collection private?

Yes. Your collection, binders and wishlist are private by default and only visible to you. You can generate a share link for a specific binder if you want to show it to someone.

How does CardAtlas handle my data?

We only store the data needed to run your account and collection — email address, cards you add and preferences. We never sell your data to third parties. You can export or delete everything from Settings at any time.

Can I create a wishlist?

Yes. Mark any card as wanted to add it to your wishlist. Wishlist cards are used by the trade matcher and can trigger price alerts when they drop below your target price.

How do price alerts work?

Set a target price on any card in your collection or wishlist. When the market value crosses your threshold you receive an email notification (and an in-app notification) so you can act quickly.

How does trading work?

The trade dashboard automatically matches your wishlist against other collectors' duplicates and vice versa. When there's a mutual match you can start a conversation and arrange the trade directly.

Can I manage multiple binders?

Yes. Create as many binders as you like — for example one per set, one for graded cards and one for trades — and move cards between them freely. Total portfolio value updates across all binders.

Does CardAtlas work on mobile?

Yes. CardAtlas is a mobile-first web app that works in any modern browser. You can also install it on your phone's home screen as a Progressive Web App for a native-app feel.

How do I report a wrong price or scan result?

Use the feedback button in the app or email support@cardatlas.nl with the card and a screenshot. Feedback goes straight to the team and we typically follow up within a day.

How can I contact support?
